The 3 Best Places to Visit in New Zealand

Published

on

Forget about Milford Sounds, the Bay of Islands, Moreaki, Tongariro National Park, and some of the other typical “places to visit in New Zealand” you might discover online. We’ll let you in on a little secret – some of the best places to visit in New Zealand are off the beaten track.

The experience of visiting your freedom camping places and exploring the surrounding areas will indeed give you numerous memories and grand backdrops for Instagram worthy photos. But we’re here to show you unique, stunning places you should visit in New Zealand. So read on!

Top 3 Places to Visit in New Zealand

Queenstown

Located on the Southwest part of the South Island, lies the adventure capital of New Zealand. Most people who travel to NZ look forward to seeing the majestic fiords, glaciers, or the crystal blue beaches. But there’s much more to the country, and Queenstown is at the center of it all.

Queensland is the motherload of all adrenaline-inducing activities. During the winter or spring, you can ski on world-class courses at breathtaking speeds. If you’re a daredevil, the dizzying heights are excellent for skydiving and bungee jumping. Water lovers have much to do in Queensland as there’s no shortage of river rafting and jet-boarding amenities.

The highest cliff jump in the world, the Shotover Canyon Swing, is located in Queenstown. If you’re lucky enough not to regurgitate your lunch, the dining experience in Queenstown is unmatched. Ask the locals to show you some great restaurants, and you’re on the way to taste-bud heaven.

Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley

Forget the winding name; Te Whakarewarewa is home to NZ’S Maori Arts and Crafts Institute. Here, you can sample traditional “steambox,” a dish that comes to life using geothermal cooking methods. You can also enjoy the experience of an authentic Maori ceremonial dance and song performance.

Some of the natural attractions in Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal valley include scalding pools that boil to more than 200°F and numerous active geysers.

Waitomo Glowworm Caves

Visiting the Waitomo Glowworm Caves is an experience that you don’t want to miss. The caves get their fame from thousands of glowworms that illuminate them. Visiting this location will provide you with an experience you’re not likely to enjoy anywhere else in the world.

Learn the science behind the mystery of the caves and the glowworms as you take a boat ride to the heart of the location. One of the unique experiences you will enjoy here is black-water rafting through the caves. The worms will provide all the illumination you need for the perfect pitch-dark ride.

Suppose you prefer a walking excursion to a water-based tour, head down to Ruakuri Cave. You can take photos of the spectacular limestone formations and more glowworms.

Conclusion

New Zealand is a land filled with beautiful scenery, breathtaking landscapes, and inviting beaches. But that’s not all there is to Kiwi land. To fill your adventure with the most spectacular memories, all you have to do is keep an open mind, and the universe (NZ) will respond. Whether or not you’ve been to New Zealand, there’s always something that’ll satisfy your wanderlust.

Wanting to help the Christmas community continue to earn income during what would normally be their busiest time of year, it is calling all Santas, elves and reindeer to submit their idea for an Online Experience idea. It will also be partnering with Santa Visits USA to offer even more ways to meet Santa Claus and the entire North Pole gang this year. These include Christmas magic with Kris Kingle himself, a holiday-themed bedtime pyjama party, a visit with head elf, Buzz Twinkletoes, and even a murder mystery show with Mrs Claus.

“According to a new report by the Fraternal Order of Real-Bearded Santas, nearly a third of their members surveyed will not be taking part in in-person visits this year,” says Airbnb. “As many of Santa Claus entertainers worldwide live on a fixed income and are reliant on their income from appearances during the holiday season, this new reality has created serious economic hardship for countless Santa performers.”

Guests can also enjoy Santa Claus around the world, with special experiences designed for families of all backgrounds, including people with disabilities. These include a “Virtual Visit and Story Time with Santa,” “Mama Claus Holiday Joy,” “Sign Language Santa,” “Meet Santa Claus in Lapland” and “Santa Storytime” with an award-winning author. In addition, hosts are sharing their own holiday traditions from around the world so people can feel festive from home, such as “How to Throw a Holiday Dinner Party,” “Create recycled puppets for the holidays” and “Sing Holiday Songs with a Broadway Star.”

Airbnb will provide additional support to Santa Claus entertainers who are interested in becoming Online Experience hosts, helping them to make a seamless transition to virtual visits. Further information is available here, and you can read about the holiday experiences already available here.
